GROWING A SOUND SYNTHESIZER
Creation of sound synthesis algorithms using evolutionary methods
In this page you will find some papers, posters, and slide presentations in chronological order
Paper 2000
This is an introductory paper presented in the AES in September of 2000. It
introduces some of the problems that will be found when using evolutionary
methods focused in audio synthesis problems, and possible ways to solve them:
| Garcia, R. (2000). "Towards the Automatic Generation
of Sound Synthesis Techniques: Preparatory Steps", 109th
Convention, Audio Engineering Society, Los Angeles, CA, September 22
-25, 2000. Preprint 5186 (pdf) (power point presentation) |
Poster 2000
Two posters (actually, they are the same poster with different background
colors, white and black). They where designed for the "Digital Life Symposium"
of MIT Media Lab held in October of 2000.
Thesis Proposal 2000
This is the thesis proposal submitted on December of 2000
Poster 2001
A poster (quite big) designed for the "Digital Life Symposium" of
the MIT Media Lab held on May of 2001. This poster includes some examples of the
grown topologies and spectrograms of the sounds while their topologies evolve.
